Whiteford (Price) Archeological Site, also known as Whiteford Site or Price Site or 14SA1, is an archaeological site near Salina, Kansas, that was declared a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1964. The National Park Service webpage for the site describes it as follows (complete text):This prehistoric village and cemetery representative of the Smoky Hill Culture which dates to about 1000-1350 AD provides a record of the early Central Plains Village period in Kansas. The unfortified village includes 12 to 15 known house sites, and the burial area contains remains of more than 140 individuals. The site has been capped with concrete as a protective measure.〔 It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1964.〔〔 and 〕 It is located on "secondary roads south of old U.S. 40 (Pacific St.)", about 4 miles east of Salina.〔 ==See also==
